So.... Darley has scooped up Street Sense, Hard Spun, Any Given Saturday, and Manduro for stud duty. All will officially retire at the end of this season except AGS who's future is still up in the air. I hope he'll return at four seeing as he has but one race left on his schedule this year, the BC Classic. (If he wins that, he'll retire for sure.) ( Read more... )

Despite what I said after the Preakness, I'm disappointed that Street Sense won't be going to the Belmont. ::sigh:: Whatever happened to sportsmanship? Oh yeah, the almighty dollar killed it. My thoughts on the Derby, such as they are. I'm handicapping with my head this year rather than my heart. I do like Street Sense quite a lot, but I've got to hold these guys at arm's length. I'm not ready yet to go head over heels again. So, that said, my ramblings are under the cut.
